Taken on a trip to Chin State, #Myanmar.

The skulls of water buffaloes, deer, and other animals (bottom right of pic) ornate the hut of a ‘good hunter’ or a ‘pasal thra’ - literally ‘good husband’ or a man who’s a good provider. Was a tradition to decorate the house back then to show one’s status in society.

When a right-wing hack like Kevin McCarthy isn't extreme enough for the total crazies who now control the Republican Party, we're in uncharted territory. They're happy with a complete con artist being seated, of course.
Kevin McCarthy could only afford to lose four Republican votes. He lost 19.
As expected, Republican Kevin McCarthy will not received enough votes to be elected speaker on the first vote.

New year, new record! The 118th United States Congress will include a record-breaking number of women and women of color. Still a long way to go — but this is progress.

Representation in governance matters.
