Finally got wheels for the board I received in a raffle. I think the pink looks sick.
While I’m working from home, my husband is already off work and is learning how to play Fortnite from his sister (also playing but she is in a video chat with him). I can hear his sister being patient and outlining how to play and to stay close to her, but my hubby is totally channeling Leroy Jenkins. https://youtu.be/mLyOj_QD4a4?si=sw6k6QPUk__MYU1v

Last night I had a dream that I found out through a late-night discussion with my cat Clementine — a sassy flame-point Himalayan, who shares my pillow and on most nights sleeps by my head — the quadratic formula is known in the cat world as Swizzletooth’s Equation. It was named after a famous cat mathematician named Swizzletooth.

Of the limited dreams I remember I find it kinda funny I remember this one. Who knows, maybe the conversation did happen.

Reports are that at noon today there were 5000 people at #HandsOff #SantaCruz and 400 people in #Watsonville . That's about 2% of the total county population, and doesn't account for (a) small protests in small towns like the dozen people in #BoulderCreek or (b) people were coming and going from the larger events the whole time. I can't even guess how many in total actually participated, but regardless: Way To Go, #SCruz!

I’m on the fence with this one, but at what threshold of lack of government support / services does civil disobedience become publicly acceptable?

The point is not to deprive the government of funds. It’s to expose the regime’s criminality

Was reminded of this image again today:

"I don't wear 🏳️‍🌈 [queer pride] items to tell you who's in my bed. I wear them so the family across the street knows they are safe. So the couple in the restaurant know they aren't alone. So the boy who sees me notice him looking at dresses knows I won't judge. I wear because you make them hide."

Ever since seeing this, I have been wearing progressive pride buttons on each of my jackets and coats (and a cap).

“How to Take Back Control of What You Read on the Internet” on The Atlantic is all about reading via RSS — and it has a nice mention of NetNewsWire. 🎩

It's time to take back control of what we read on the internet

Social-media algorithms show us what they want us to see, not what we want to see. But there is an alternative.
