This is precisely the strategic advantage gained when a downstream distribution decides not be a "bug-for-bug" binary compatible distribution. If the patched kernels pass muster, I wouldn't be surprised if Red Hat quietly decides to use them. Well done, AlmaLinux developers!

The bug allows hackers to bypass login screens and gain full server access. One web host said they've seen evidence of attacks dating back to February.

ELevate NG (the development branch of ELevate) now supports the upgrade path from AlmaLinux OS 9 to AlmaLinux OS 10 (or AlmaLinux OS Kitten) x86_64_v2. We need your help to verify that the upgrade works smoothly. Please give it a try and report your results! Caution: Do not use it on production machines. We highly recommend making backups and/or snapshots of your system before proceeding, and performing a trial run in a sandbox first.
