730 days out of the ICU.

Lifting. Plyo. Velodrome podium. Chemo.
First run. Still running.

This November I'm running a half marathon for the American Cancer Society.

Not fast. Not built for it. Doing it anyway.

took the long way home today
no agenda
no calls
just drove

ended up here
sat for 20 minutes
watched the light change

slow down
enjoy the view

we forget how good it feels to just stop

trust has a timeline
you can't rush it

drove my friend's kid to school this morning
2nd time meeting her

95 percent of the trip: stone cold silence
no eye contact
zero words

i kept cracking the worst dad jokes
nothing

then right at dropoff
big smile, flying hug, straight to campus

same thing happens with founders
the ones who need time usually convert harder

ai adoption is exposing something uncomfortable.

most workflows were never designed.
they just accumulated.

ai doesn't fix that.

it forces the decision you've been avoiding.

I spent 24 months making high-stakes calls with depleted resources and real consequences.

Now I help founders do the same.

Minus the chemo.

24 months ago everything broke at once.

Health.
Company.
Confidence.

All of it.

March 19, 2024. Brain surgery. Stage 2.

Four months of chemoradiation followed. My startup's trajectory collapsed. My confidence, already shaky after leaving a PE job to build something, was gone.

What I learned in that stretch isn't in any framework. You earn it by having no good options and still having to pick one.

That's what @clarityframeio is built on.

judging ai pitches in palo alto tonight

no panels
no stage discussions
just back to back founder pitches

$1k cash prize for the best 1

if you're building in applied ai and want to pitch or connect with builders and investors, come through

shoutout to @theagentic and tehele ventures for hosting

ai doesn't improve workflows.

it forces you to redesign them.

the companies seeing real gains didn't wait to learn that.

most companies skip this.

they install ai on top of messy workflows.

same system.
just faster.

stage 3: workflow redesign

this is where leverage shows up.

leaders start asking different questions:

what decision actually needs to be made?
what information matters?
which steps exist only because they always have?

half the workflow disappears.
