The party who seems to have benefited the most from #laboursleaze are #theSNP. Heading up to #ge2024 the spotlight was on their internal issues which have barely been mentioned once in the last month. Instead the press seems to be focussing on #conservatives hypocrisy.
It'll be interesting to see how the polling reflects this.

An old friend has inherited millions and become a boastful bore

If he was my friend and started the ‘I’m-considerably-richer-than-you’ act, I’d take the mick out of him royally, says Philippa Perry

Frankly, it’s depressing how one billionaire can fuck up the night sky for the rest of humanity and our collective ability to try to understand more about the universe.

The new generation of Starlink satellites create even more interference than the old ones.

I still don't understand why people queue for 20+ mins to board international flights. Your seat is already allocated and it's not like the plane will takeoff earlier if you are at the front of the queue.

Sit down, relax, go to Winchester and wait for all this to blow over

Growing up, my parents always told me not to bring up the following in light conversation
- Religion
- Politics
- Football (in Scotland)
- Gun control (in America)
- Healthcare (in America)
- Immigration

So it amazes how confident complete strangers are to start spouting racist (made up) sh*t to me and think I'll agree. Maybe it's the shaved head.

-OK, so the feedback we're getting is people are bored of us rehashing old ideas and want new, original #movies. What have we got?
- <tumbleweed>
- Come on someone must have something
- Um....
- Yes, you, spit it out.
- Well, what about, um, remaking Critters....
- WERE YOU LISTENING TO ANYTHING I JUST SAID?
- .... but we cast #jennaortega ?
- Genius! How much do you need?

In 2024 it's ridiculous that #religious figures are given seats in the #HouseofLords, and even more ridiculous that only one subset of one religion is represented because they happen to follow the "correct" version of 1 of many imaginary sky people.

Lords hereditaries removal welcome, but bishops should go next

The Government has today brought forward a Bill to remove hereditary peers from the House of Lords. Humanists UK has welcomed this move as long overdue reform. But it has also said that the next step should be to remove the 26 Church of England bishops, known as the Lords Spiritual, who also have an… Continue reading Lords hereditaries removal welcome, but bishops should go next

During the #brexit debate, those who claimed "We can recreate the #britishempire " were roundly mocked for their assumption that ex colonies would come crawling back to us. It was reassuring to see this delusion was something not seriously considered by anyone in the know.

A Britain proud of its present and realistic about its past is taking shape: with the angry right trailing behind

Research shows a public less nationalistic, less ideological, with its own sense of national pride – and a media and political class out of sync, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik
