@quarterswede @robkrueger @siracusa on a tub that makes sense because the drain is usually under the faucet. It would be less practical to have the overflow drain start at the far end of the tub and have to provide a path internal to the tub to get the water to the drain. This seems less critical in a sink since the drain may be in the center of the sink.
