In honour of the month of JUNE, I finally finished compiling my various thoughts on Pride, queer justice, and debility/disability for my sixth JOURNAL entry.

It digs a little deeper into things that Iʼve been tooting about over the past several months, regarding where I think we should be setting our sights.

I call it:

FUCK PRIDE
 FOLKS DIED
  2019

Not that I particularly Give A Shit, but it seems like I keep having to repeat myself in discussions about what I want to see in a software project.

This is only my own fault, because I havenʼt ever recorded these thoughts down in a more formal manner for other people to reference.

So I did.

New Journal Entry:
ORGANIZING PRINCIPLES
FOR COMMUNITY SOFTWARE

oh and if you have thoughts regarding what i have to say, maybe talk about it with your followers yeah? i want a proliferation of discourses. donʼt just keep it to my mentions where nobody else will see

TAKING
VIOLENCE

@nightpool fair

(although i *personally* disagree but)

i would like to clarify that i'm not saying that all of Web 2.0 needs to be abolished, the same as i am not saying that all of Web 1.0 needs to be abolished (i still have a personal web site! lol)

but i do think that there is a new design space out there that we should be working towards in a lot of respects, that we aren't because we're trapped thinking in these older models

@nightpool most people find wikipedia USEFUL (i do too!) but i'm not sure that's quite the same thing

DESIGNING FOR WEB 2020
======================

Iʼve been thinking about this a lot ! These ideas arenʼt necessarily organized or complete but I think they shed a fair amount of light onto my design process and the sorts of things I aim for with my works.

Pairs well with RDF, ActivityPub, IndieWeb, and everyone else trying to build the internet of tomorrow, today. But from a design perspective, rather than a technological one !

@strypey (i'm also holding back because i'm waiting to see what @cwebber puts together with Spritely lol)

@strypey long term: yes ; short term: not really

the short answer is that there is a lot of infrastructural work that needs to be done if we want to do things "right"; the tentative roadmap in my head is to first build readers for the vocabulary and THEN federators for the information

so i've been slowly working on building the RDF tools necessary for that

unlike with mastodon/vanilla activitypub, being able to publish and view STATIC "activitypress" things is a goal

Hey everyone! Haven't posted here recently because I took a break from Making Things to go write thousands of words of gay fanfiction.

But it looks like yesterday I Made A Thing again!! Go check it out: https://www.u2764.com/
