Been a busy few months changing direction within my career in IT shifting from ISP/MSP to more industrial focused areas which has been really interesting!
Getting involved with building HMI/SCADA systems for control panels & programming PLC’s with ladder logic (Using Allen Bradley) I hadn’t realised there was such an overlap with some of my previous coding experience!
I’ve also been getting stuck in with helping build the control panel racks too!

After a fair bit of tinkering in between things I’ve finally gotten my BGP bits sorted properly and sending announcements up to my peer, some further filters adjusted in the peers link to the carriers and I’m now routable to the world!

Busy day yesterday at two sites for the same customer to extend their network from Lodge & Cottage to a parking area to provide internet access on both cabled and wireless for some EV chargers which they will be fitting
The customer needed the units to blend in and be as hidden as possible, so they were sprayed black and tucked away whilst maintaining line of sight for a high quality 60ghz 1gb link with inbuild backup 5ghz connection

First real test of new coverage since the increased antenna height for RX on my LoRa APRS from the car back to the gateway, it’s massively improved the LoRa footprint.. it almost gets me all the way to work!
Further coverage testing to be carried out but initially it looks like a big win for coverage ad previously it would only get about half way before dropping off and the other one just about covering (limited cover on the second)

GB7PKT packet node BBS is now live on RF on 144.950Mhz in North Norfolk
It’s been on bench test for a while with no radio attached, but since the works over the weekend with getting my antennas outside it’s prompted to get this node from non-operational to operational
Likely still some tweaks to do with the levels but it’s now live on actual RF power
Finally gotten round to moving the x30 dual band (144/430mhz) and the adsb (1090mhz) antennas from inside the loft to outside
Been saying I’ll take down the pair of MikroTik SXT LTE units for ages as their no longer in use for a while
Should now have better coverage for my LoRa APRS igate (MB7UKT) and great coverage for my packet BBS 2m node (GB7PKT)
