What is federated social media?
How does it feel using federated service x?
Will there be mainstream federated social media adoption?
What would be the consequences of widespread adoption?
These questions are dealt too often isolated from each other, leaving curious peers and media outlets covering the #Fediverse in their articles underwhelmed.
I have developed a concept to bring these questions under one term.
It's called Federated Revolution Theory

Now almost 30M accounts are registered on #Bluesky. One may say #X #Twitter still has 500M+ users, thus it's a relation more than 10:1, but that's not the full #picture:
All platforms have "abandoned accounts". But switchers from X to Bluesky are ACTIVE users.
If we assume Bluesky's above average active users factor double: 30M× 2
and X's increasingly abandoned accounts make for a halving 500M×0.5,
I speculate, we get a more realistic picture of relative activity being 4:1

Note: The MAU ratio is very high, time will tell if its stable or because of recent growth. However, #Mastodon 's comeback in MAUs shows us how important the existence of an account is, even if people would figure it's not their time yet. As soon as their figure, the shift will be fast!
