After re-watching PROMETHEUS, I decided to give ALIEN COVENANT another go. I liked it better than I did in its initial release. Still bigger problems than what was introduced in PROMETHEUS. Yeah, it delivered the fully-realized xenomorph, but it made things more convoluted.
With a new ALIEN movie coming this summer, I revisited PROMETHEUS. I know it has some silly moments (and please don’t parrot those in the comments… haters will be deleted). But I unabashedly love this move. Sure, it’s imperfect, but it tackles some impressive themes. Also love the dedication to body horror that started with 1979’s ALIEN. And if you have a thing for Noomi Rapace (as I do), it certainly delivers.
Dozed off and woke up in the middle of the night. What better time to put the corned beef, veggies, and beer in the crock pot? I’m sure no one noticed the Irish pub tunes I was blasting in the kitchen at 5 in the morning.
Moving on to #RiffTrax’s #MissileToTheMoon. RIP Fred Willard.
Some days, it’s just reasonable to watch MEGAFORCE.

4) If Marvel and DC ever did a crossover movie, they’d clean up with an Aquaman / Thor team-up.

5) Or (see above) using Randall Park to bridge the universes since their characters are virtually identical in both series.

6) Patrick Wilson does his best to make this movie work. Respect.

7) It is painfully clear how much tinkering was done throughout the entire process. Characters come and go; many things don’t make sense; Amber Heard looks like she was created by AI.

Finally getting around to watching #AquamanAndTheLostKingdom … and it’s not very good. Though I’ve had some thoughts…

1) I respect the Jason Momoa dad bod look. The dude has earned the right to demand his abs and pecs be CGI.

2) The MVP of the movie is Randall Park. That guys is great in almost everything.

3) The overuse of CGI everything makes the film look cheap rather than impressive. Makes Quantumania look like a National Geographic doc.
