So... this whole "identity being tied to server instance" thing is not just a theoretical problem. It's a very, very, practical problem.
Somebody fill me in on Maly.io: is the belief that it's less censorship-y than mastoDotSocial based on anything?

I think a good way to differentiate instances would be if the mastodon layout were to include an avi pic in the top left corner, specific to the instance.
