I write software, sci-fi reviews, and sometimes other stuff too.
@brad_frost Visual learning works best for that age group. My first thought is showing them something like flexbox froggy or CSS grid garden, but there are probably even better ones out there that are more kid-focused.

I had heard parents were choosing strange names for their kids these days, but I had no idea it had gotten this bad.

I exclusively write FOSS, but sometimes I don't understand the purity tests of the FOSS community.
As long as a PR author fully read the the code, and it was not largely copied from any other project, I don't care what kind of autocomplete magic was used.
FOSS is at too big of a disadvantage to be picky about useful contributions that respect the license.
@lukedary @jaffathecake If I recall correctly, there was some social science research done a while ago that showed that people do have a tendency to be meaner online than they are in real life. Assuming I'm remembering it right, it had something to do with it being easier to dehumanize people on the other side of a screen than it is to dehumanize somebody right in front of you.
@jaffathecake I did some career coaching for a while and I had a similar experience a handful of times, so I can definitely relate.
Don't forget that for every person out there like that, there are countless more who appreciate what you do, even if not all of us are terribly vocal about it all the time.
