So, I want to publish a video about my choice of this instance. I spoke with my students today about the Fediverse and Mastodon but the live demo part was painful as it looks like my instance was having serious load issues as are may others. The popular (and I hear good) hosting at https://masto.host/ is not offering any plans currently.

@davecormier @cogdog I gave talks today in Tepic to high school (about 200 students) and then university students and faculty (about 70 people) and talked about Mastodon and the Fediverse.
It was not at all on their radar. The rest of both talks went well though, so that was great.
Bonus: I had breakfast at a nearby beach town. 😁
