futures i still believe are possible:
- civilization no longer depends on fossil fuels
- food, housing, physical and mental healthcare for all
- no billionaires
- full reparations to the colonized and the enslaved
- computing without big tech
- an internet without advertising
- total liberation for gender nonconforming people

The only things JKR brought to the table were cruel interconnects between the much better sources she stole from, plus lawyers.

When I read the first HP book, I thought it was a fanfic homage to the Worst Witch series or maybe Chrestomanci series. Or Books of Magic for the protagonist. Or Agatha Christie for plot. Nope. Complete rip-off.

OK, time to watch some Worst Witch! Or Owl House!

A pretty good summary of the wherefroms and examples:

The problem still as that the populace at large don't know about this connection. Until more than just the Verge scream it from the rooftops that hateful human being will continue to profit and will continue to destroy innocent lives.

the moral arguments against using AI for open source development are just too large to ignore.

Our entire ecosystem is on the line here. Not just the open source ecosystem, but the entire, global ecosystem. And I feel there’s not enough voices speaking up about it.

Make your voice heard! Allow yourself to be angry; there’s enough nonsense going out there! We need to stop this madness.

Open Source and AI

More and more frequently, I get asked about my stance on AI in the context of programming. This is my attempt to summarize my stance for those who wonder.

Adults Lose Skills to AI. Children Never Build Them.

Discussions of cognitive offloading often miss a critical distinction: What AI does to a 45-year-old's brain is categorically different from what it does to a 14-year-old's.

Well, I guess smart bricks suck ass. Even if the tech has a little potential.

I wish I could recommend this piece more, because it makes a bunch of great points, but the "normal technology" case feels misleading to me. It's not _wrong_, exactly, but radium paint was also a "normal technology" according to this rubric, and I still very much don't want to get any on me and especially not in my mouth

2. If it is "nuts" to dismiss this experience, then it would be "nuts" to dismiss mine: I have seen many, many high profile people in tech, who I have respect for, take *absolutely unhinged* risks with LLM technology that they have never, in decades-long careers, taken with any other tool or technology. It reads like a kind of cognitive decline. It's scary. And many of these people are *leaders* who use their influence to steamroll objections to these tools because they're "obviously" so good

Hi everyone,

If you are using hastags with multiple words, please use camel case.

Why?

A) Screen readers will see a bunch of letters that doesn't make one word and read out each individual letter. Which makes it hard to understand.

B) For us sighted people, it is also easier to read.

Thanks you
