i got further in an afternoon playing around with https://cfd.direct / OpenFOAM than i did in a year of "playing" with the code i was supposed to work with for my master's thesis. also, master's thesis required driving across town to sit in the visualization lab at the san diego supercomputer center and compile code on the cray. today i started a docker container on my mac.
