Nebraska born and raised, now living in Baltimore. I am a proud member of the National Federation of the Blind and work as our Education Programs Coordinator. I love to knit, cook, and bake, particularly using the sourdough starter my friends and I have managed to keep alive. I enjoy creating things from scratch, supporting local businesses, and working to turn dreams into reality.
I always forget just how much I enjoy Eve Hill’s presentations, and how proud I am that she is our lawyer. She has the room wrapped at #nfb25.
I am in the room and ready for @President #nfb25 presidential report! This is my favorite session of any @nationsblind convention. I love being reminded why we do what we do and how far we have actually come, even if there is farther to go.
Can't attend the #NFB25 board meeting because I am working the Federation Free Reads table at the exhibit hall, so we are streaming the board meeting from here. Excited to hear from the scholarship class and the distinguished educator of blind students in particular.
Standing in line to pick up my registration packet for #nfb25 and enjoying all the conversations. From how to tell if your steak is done the way you want without being able to see, to knowing if fish is fresh based on how it smells, I love #blind people sharing their learned tips.
This is my 19th @nationsblind convention, and while I love convention for itself, I do think that #Nola is my favorite convention city. I’m looking forward to all of the official proceedings starting out tomorrow, but my lead up to #nfb25 has been fantastic!
Before #nfb25 we took a carriage ride pulled by Armstrong the mule. It was a cool way to learn some New Orleans history, and I’ve never pet a mule before.
Anyone know if there is a scanner feed available to listen to from the emergency happening at Reagan Airport? #ems #hamradio #ragonNational #AmericanAirlines
Enjoying listening to the #MushroomFM holiday countdown. Even better that my team won canasta!
Not the #huskers outcome we were hoping for, but I’m still proud of this team. These are kids, 18-22 year old kids, playing a game. Do I love it? Yes. Do I want us to win? Yes. But more, I want them to grow to be good men, who can win and lose and get up again. I think that’s happening, so I’m still proud.
Up bright and early to walk the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to support the national federation of the blind. If you haven't donated yet, I would really appreciate your support, and every dollar will be matched!
