@kcmeadbrewer @premeesaurus @bookstodon I'm such a Samanta Schweblin fan. Haven't been able to get a hold of her newest one, tho. Mouthful of Birds remains my fave
@kcmeadbrewer @premeesaurus @bookstodon Really loved The Apple-Tree Throne, like a classic ghost story where the dread slowly builds up, a tale that ached beautifully.

Superstar @premeesaurus talks to Publishers Weekly about her forthcoming (from us) collection NO ONE WILL COME BACK FOR US, which you can pre-order (from us) or other vendors, now.

my top 3 fav February long-form reads: Mónica Ojeda's novel JAWBONE, @premeesaurus's novella THE APPLE-TREE THRONE, and Samantha Schweblin's novel FEVER DREAM -- all fantastic, weird, creepy, delicious imagination food! highly recommend ⚡ 🦇

Oh my G--d because February is a shorter month, I need to put in library purchase requests sooner!

Finally decided:
* The Skin and Its Girl by Sarah Cypher
* Chaos, Crossing by Olivia Elias, tr. K.J. Abu-Zeid
* The Leopard Princess: Book I of the Wonderful Somali Nights by M.O. Hadji and Jose Lorenzo Pacheco (picture book - does anyone know what happened to possible sequels?)

Somehow did not know that there's a poetry form called a sapphic (after Sappho, who wrote them).

"Sapphics are made up of any number of four-line stanzas" -- we sure are -- and each stanza has a specific pattern of trochees and dactyls. https://poets.org/glossary/sapphic

So, brb writing a lot of sapphic sapphics.

Sapphic

The sapphic poem dates back to ancient Greece and is named for the poet
