Germans didn't join the SS because they wanted to make Germany better. They volunteered to be concentration camp guards because they loved the raw, violent power it gave them and because they loved using that power to hurt others.

Steak is beef, but a beefsteak is a type of tomato. And garden stakes hold plants up. Corn has ears. Potatoes have eyes. Beanstalk. Summer squashes but winter peas.

Good gourd! It makes me want to wet my plants and soil myself!
