I work with, and write about, art and technology (including photography). I’d like to use my modular synths more. An exile. It is illegal to call me an architect.

Yeah.
Amazing that the guy running the Art Institute of Chicago got drunk, took a bunch of pills, and took off his clothes on a flight to Munich last year but was still allowed to return to the museum where he is plotting to demolish the Sullivan Stock Exchange Trading Room for a monument to himself.
Zen, Time, and Three Gardens in Kyoto - varnelis.net

My latest essay was supposed to be a brief piece on 3 gardens in Kyoto (Shōsei-en, Saihō-ji, and
Matsunoo Taisha). Being a historian, I couldn't resist going down a rabbit hole about the development of the "zen garden" as a concept in the 1930s. That's the way these things go. Link in the comments.
Who would think that on this first day of April, NASA would be flying four astronauts to the moon? How many folks out there now this happened?
1980s. We are going to reuse rocket engines on the Space Shuttle.
2020s. We are going to throw away those rocket engines on Artemis.
How many folks have any idea that NASA is hoping to send astronauts back to the moon in under four minutes?

Fascinating analysis by @acolangelo about the state of Artemis after Isaacman’s moves. Link in comments. Elon is going to have to put up or shut up. But is he just too weak to do it? Is SS toast? No more excuses.

Saw Project Hail Mary. Yet another "most realistic space film ever." And just like Interstellar or Gravity, there were just too many blatant physics gaffs for me to enjoy. Also, way too much soundtrack, as usual. Somebody is going to make money releasing cuts with 90% less music in 10 years.
