Media coverage aside, looks like this Christmas is gonna suck for trans people who will have to deal — on top of everything — with their entire social circles of cis people gasping and gushing over the new Harry Potter series that's actively funding the policies that are torturing and killing them.

Incidentally, I don't think that Sakura and Hinagiku's relationship counts as queerbaiting? At least in the novel. The narrative clearly states that their love isn't romantic, so... you aren't exactly tricked into seeing them as a couple only to be disappointed later. They are attracted to men. They are also completely obsessed with each other in a non-sexual way. It's honestly quite interesting to play with.
Is it melodramatic? Absolutely, but then again, the same may be said about #VioletEvergarden, which I also love. To be entirely honest, my own personality is a bit dry, so I tend to enjoy characters who are dramatic and intense about everything, heh. For example, I find Sakura's extreme devotion to Hinagiku immensely satisfying. 
The first episode of #ShunkashuutouDaikoushaHaruNoMai was very good. Not super eventful but really beautiful and emotional. And, well, as someone who has just finished the second novel, I know this story DOES have a strong plot, and it gets pretty damn dark at times.
