Reconcilable Differences #232: Ham Means One - Relay

John guides Merlin through an unusual form of communication.

@ttscoff It’s absolutely insane. I remember laughing out loud as I listened to @siracusa and @hotdogsladies incredulously deconstruct this video in a past episode of @RecDiffs
@siracusa Talk about the most dangerous game. The few ARC enemies on that map barely register as threats.

@siracusa What was that video you were talking about near the end of the show about the Destiny players taking a very different approach to the game?

(Maybe it’s in the show notes but only Incomparable members can see them…)

Not pulling any punches 😆

Got unreasonably excited about this new, incredibly straightforward count-distinct algorithm. The CVM algorithm is a direct replacement for HyperLogLog, it nerd-sniped Donald Knuth for weeks, *and* it can easily be taught in an entry-level CS course.

@marioguzman Oh, you’re right—that *is* perfect! Can’t believe I didn’t make the connection myself. 😅
@marioguzman You should totally name it. Back in the day, I called my green Volpe “Yoshi”. 😄

Finally sharing what I’ve been building for almost a year now!

Atuin Desktop: runbooks that run

It’s open source and in open beta now 🥰

Built for engineers who need repeatable, reliable workflows. No more copy-pasting from slack or outdated docs

@chockenberry Thanks, that all makes sense to me. I would argue that the act of marking an item in the moment requires less thought than trying to figure out *why* you marked it at some time in the future, but I get your point.

Would it help to rephrase this as a request for *tags* or *labels*? It’s pretty much the same thing, in terms of the functionality I’m looking for. (The current system of “marking” a post essentially allows you to add a single generic, unnamed tag/label to any post.)
