As of GNOME 50, if you use Calendar and want to share an event with othersโ€ฆ export it as ICS file! Also works with exporting entire calendar.

Additionally, if you have a meeting link set as a location and it's time to join it โ€” click โ€žJoinโ€ button to join. Enjoy!

I have released version 1.15 of slixmpp, the python XMPP library.

Besides the continuation of @nicoco โ€™s quest to add every XEP under the sun, the most notable change is that building the rust module is now optional (i.e. in the absence of sufficient tools, slixmpp will happily be installed using the pure-python fallback for the JID module, which is kind of important for Mac OS or Winslop platforms).

The fourth edition of FOSSY -- the Free and Open Source Software Yearly conference -- will be here before you know it. It's happening August 6th-9th in Vancouver, BC, Canada. What makes FOSSY amazing is its genuine, dedicated community: the speakers, attendees, exhibitors, and volunteers. That community is getting a tremendous boost this year thanks to our organizing partnership with IEEE Vancouver, and the enthusiastic support of University of British Columbia faculty, staff, and students. This is a year you'll want to be part of.
