Because again, the political messaging coming from the top encourages healthy people not only not to protect vulnerable people, but to mock and deride them."

@jackyan OMG...So, since I've been friends with you and @queenoliviastr for...OMG, over 14 *years* now...I'm well-versed in many aspects of Kiwi slang. But imagine my surprise when it made it onto Saturday Night Live! Now, this sketch series was 10 years ago at best, but check this out!!

Everyone is acting as if the lower fatality rate has made it safe to spread COVID. They're ignoring all the long-term health risks.

The Great Britain chief medical officer, Charlotte Cowie, says there is "fear of infections and COVID incidents in the village." Is the answer masks? Ventilation? Avoiding crowded spaces? Nope. "She assures them there are mental health leads, psychologists, doctors, and physios ready to help."
Help with what, exactly, after one is infected?!? Why not strive to PREVENT them in the first place?
