Es lässt sich auch benennen, von wem.

Schon seit Jahren stören sich Demokratiefeinde daran, dass Demokratieprojekte gefördert werden. Seit Anfang 2025 steht das Programm „Demokratie leben“ nun stark im Fokus von Diffamierungskampagnen. Dahinter stehen NIUS, die WELT, die AfD, Konzernlobbyisten und Teile der Union.

In Dauerbeschallung erzählen uns diese Akteure, dass es sich bei demokratie-engagierten Vereinen um angeblich „linke Aktivisten“ oder gar „Linksextreme“ handele. Und sie behaupten fälschlicherweise, dass staatliche Förderung keine politischen Äußerungen zulasse.

Das autoritäre Playbook gibt es vor: Erst Desinformation, dann Diffamierung und schließlich Defunding.
