Let me know your thoughts on the same!

I am glad to have worked collaboratively with my team - Edward Kao, Emily Wu, and Jessica Roa. Thank you, @rowlandm, for your mentorship!

I am happy to share my ๐‚๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐›๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง to the ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ (๐‘๐‚๐) of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) as a Research Software Engineering Contributor.

Please take a look at the outcomes in the following two blogs, which I wrote throughout the process of developing and implementing a solution for a Research Data Management workflow.

โ— I will never stop learning and improving my craft.

โ— I will fearlessly and relentlessly improve my creations at every opportunity. I will never degrade them.

โ— I will do all that I can to keep the productivity of myself, and others, as high as possible. I will do nothing that decreases that productivity.

โ— I will continuously ensure that others can cover for me, and that I can cover for them.

โ— I will produce estimates that are honest both in magnitude and precision. I will not make promises without certainty.

โ— I will not produce harmful code.

โ— The code that I produce will always be my best work. I will not knowingly allow code that is defective either in behavior or structure to accumulate.

โ— I will produce, with each release, a quick, sure, and repeatable proof that every element of the code works as it should.

โ— I will make frequent, small, releases so that I do not impede the progress of others.

I have kept the card in my treasured bag of swags and go back to it every now and then! ๐Ÿ—ƒ

I wonder if I should take a look at it every time before starting a new project that involves computer technology. ๐Ÿค”

What are your thoughts? Which is your favourite promise?

Here is The #Programmer's #Oath for your quick reference:

Sharing a memory from around 4 years back today! I had participated in ๐‡๐š๐œ๐ค๐ญ๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ - one of the biggest annual global celebrations of #open #source #software online. After submitting 4 successful PRs, I received a bag of swag from the organisers.

The swags contained this particular card titled '๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ'๐ฌ ๐Ž๐š๐ญ๐ก' from DeepSource.

I must say - at first the card immediately reminded me of '๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‡๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐œ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐Ž๐š๐ญ๐ก' generally taken by the people in the medical profession. ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you so much Neil P. Chue Hong for the invitation and @CatherineI for the meticulous planning
and making the visit so comfortable for me. Enjoying lunch on the University of Edinburgh campus on a sunny day was the best part of it! ๐Ÿฅช๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿงƒ!

It was great listening to my fellow speaker @Samantha Wittke talk about her work โ˜บ๏ธ.

This will remain a visit that I will cherish for long! ๐ŸŒทโ˜บ๏ธ

During my recent visit to the UK, in addition to participating in the Collaborations Workshop 2025 hosted by the @SoftwareSaved I was also invited to visit @EPCC at the #universityofedinburgh and speak about my work for the RSE Asia Association.

โœ๏ธ Here I share a blog post about my experience of the visit to @EPCC https://jyoti-bhogal.github.io/about-me/blog/2025-05-27_epcc_talk/
