@avradi Ab s2 ist LowerDecks witzig und interessant. Die erste Staffel ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Aber dann wird es immer besser, jedenfalls war das so bei mir.
@alisynthesis It's from 12 years ago 😉
@David Listening to Dutch as a German always feels like they do a prank on me.

Can you help me
Occupy my brain?

@ainmosni I mean that it has become way too self-referential. SW was always strong when it referenced other stuff, incorporating it into its body, while now it's mostly wink winking its on past. And that stifles creativity and makes it inaccessible.

Disney might not be the boldest studio, but at least it did not block Andor which means that LFL still can push stuff through if it wants. I just would want more like that. And quite interestingly, Andor was a streaming success.

To me, #StarWars in the sequel era, but especially with the live-action TV shows, has become way too self-referential and "in love" with itself, instead of focusing on what made it great in the first place: bold and sweeping adventures, steeped in the history of movie-making and storytelling.

Thinking back to #Andor and how it has shown that #StarWars doesn't have to constantly reference itself for people to like it, quite the contrary. If it references the real world and other movies/show, audiences will pick up and their experience deepens.

Also, Star Wars is just as much about fantastic adventures as it is about dressing up serious real world stuff in the guise of fantastic adventures.
