My thoughts are with the people from the US that have to live amongst 70 million of the most selfish, egotistical, and generally disgusting people.

Special mention to all my trans homies, anyone in the alphabet mafia, anyone who isn’t white and a cis-man basically.

Extra special mention to the people living in the tropics who will have to mass migrate and every other country who will be affected by the long tail of whatever moronic climate, health, and economic policies that get instrumented in the next 4 years.

Beautifully designed, privacy-focused, and packed with features.

I lost a dear friend last night. Gone far too soon. Be sure to tell those close to you that you love them. So glad I got a chance to. It doesn't change the heartbreak but love doesn't go anywhere when someone passes, it's immutable and constant.

RIP Fraq

Such an amazing and kind person. You'll be missed by so many. Even in death he still managed to find a way to alleviate some of the pain:

Despite everything else, this is the most terrifying news I've read in months. It is I suppose inevitable that we're seeing a return to fascism and large scale war as climate impacts start to stack up, but the distraction from our efforts at decarbonization will prove fatal to human civilization within the lifetimes of folks already born: https://www.motherjones.com/environment/2024/10/scientists-alarmed-collapse-natural-carbon-sinks/
Scientists are alarmed by signs of collapse in Earth's natural carbon sinks

Plants, trees, and soil absorbed almost no net CO2 last year. If this continues, we're in bigger trouble than we thought.

Finally deleted my twitter account. Kinda sad seeing 10+ years of interactions on there.

Here's to 20+ years of interactions on the fediverse. After which I'm burning all my computers and becoming a farmer.

Early humans weren’t conquerors but wanderers who mingled with other human species. The new view of human migration is much friendlier, less vicious & competitive. It's important to update pop culture notions human of evolution https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/human-origins-look-ever-more-tangled-with-gene-and-fossil-discoveries/ by @dvergano
Humanity’s Origins Paint Our Ancestors as Lovers, Not Fighters

Fossil and gene discoveries paint an ever-more-intertwined history of humans combining with vanished species like Neandertals
