If you want to know all the fine details about Freeform, this in-depth story by @jvoorhees is a great starting point. John tested different file types embedded in maps, collaboration vs. single-user mode, the Mac version, and more.

This is going to be fun to play with: https://www.macstories.net/reviews/freeform-leverages-the-freedom-and-flexibility-of-a-blank-canvas/

Freeform Leverages the Freedom and Flexibility of a Blank Canvas

Freeform is a brand new iPhone, iPad, and Mac app from Apple that lets users create multimedia boards on an infinite canvas that include text, images, drawings, links, files, and more. I'd love to get some listener favorites to share during the episode

Some highlights from my review on MacStories.net https://www.macstories.net/reviews/freeform-leverages-the-freedom-and-flexibility-of-a-blank-canvas/

- The catalog of shapes is much deeper than in something like notes. There are objects, animals, buildings, and a lot more.
- Also, there's the ability to anchor lines and arrows to objects.
- The app uses guidelines as you drag objects to help get everyhing lined up neat and tidy

First year in a long time I went beta-free.

All part of the master plan of going from iMac to Apple Studio Display + M2 MacBook Air or M2 iPad Pro 😉

Thank you Europe, as always. 🇪🇺 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-12-13/will-apple-allow-users-to-install-third-party-app-stores-sideload-in-europe

I can't wait for Apple to open up iOS for side-loading, browser engines, and more. Bring it. 💪

iPadOS 16.2 launches today with Stage Manager support for external displays.

I still have my issues with Stage Manager, but I was finally able to create the setup I've always wanted, and I'm happy.

iPadOS 16.2 and Stage Manager for External Displays: Work in Progress, But Worth the Wait

Ever since I last wrote about iPadOS 16, I have continued using Stage Manager on my iPad Pro. As I wrote in October, I like the idea behind Stage Manager more than its implementation. Despite the flawed design of its multitasking concepts and bugs I still encounter on a daily basis, it’s undeniable that Stage
