With Manhunt Tobias Menzies Edges Closer to the Limelight

“I’ve got to be honest, I really liked it,” Menzies says of the status he enjoyed on Apple TV+'s historical drama.

I Need The Eggs

This is the ending of ANNIE HALL — an incredible, timeless classic that was unfortunately made by a child molester. And I thought of that old joke, you know, this guy goes to his psychiatrist and says ‘Doc, my brother’s crazy. He thinks he’s a chicken! And uh, the doctor says, well, why don’t you turn him in? Well, I would, but I need the eggs.’

pageturner
my dad’s favorite thing is making a speech about how he’s sick of being a parent, he doesn’t want to put up with it anymore, doesn’t want to have to hang out with grandkids, doesn’t want to meet any soulmates, he’s done with the whole thing! (he makes this speech once a quarter)

““Beating up on screenwriters,” John Gregory Dunne wrote in 1996, “is a Hollywood blood sport; everyone in the business thinks he or she can write, if only time could be found.”

i have experienced this again and again 🙄 https://www.vox.com/culture/23700519/writers-strike-ai-2023-wga

A potential writers strike needs to address the threat of AI

AI should scare Hollywood’s writers, and everyone else, too.

my friend thinks i’m going to find a “picket line hottie”
i made my first angel investment (literally from the bathroom) in a startup i had heard of cuz that’s where everyone learns to code. it’s already at Series B and converted to shares. i’m basically Ashton Kutcher now
Oprah looks incredible (appearing at CinemaCon today)
the “no generals” rule is more of a gift tbh
it’s bizarre to me when actors dismiss writers or are hostile towards them or above them, or overtly suck up to directors over writers (in tv). don’t they know how they get cast? who can write them out any time? who can give them more lines? who has their edit? think this through
