As an exercise in self-discipline, I’ve decided to get an early start on my 2023 New Year’s resolution of writing more and sharing what research I can with the community. As a sort of Digital Forensics Advent Calendar, I’m going to attempt to publish a daily series of informative blog posts detailing internals of Apple’s APFS file system.

This is a quick update to yesterday’s post on using std::experimental::simd to speed up APFS Fletcher-64 calculations. I'm dealing with a carpal tunnel flare-up today, so there will be no APFS Advent post.
Per the challenge's rules, I've donated another $100 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
Today's a good day to catch up on the series if you haven't already: https://jtsylve.blog/post/2022/11/27/APFS-Advent-Challenge-2022

Decided to alter the parameters of my #DFIR APFS Advent Challenge. I'll now attempt to release posts every Monday-Friday for the entire month of December.
BTW, I'm enjoying the interactions here on Mastodon. We are the algorithm. "Favorites" are great, but if you consider them worthy, please consider boosting the posts, so that they can get more reach.
