@nixCraft even in a theoretical ideal scenario where AI is able to really increase productivity - management just demands even more insane deadlines, leading to a net increase in developer stress and burnout. It's a lose-lose for sure

@Profpatsch @RosaCtrl shhhh, let me have fun at work!

Really though, maybe a hot take, but unless you're in medical or some kind of safety industry, "business critical" isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be. If a project is late, does it *really* matter? Mostly no, in my experience. Deadlines usually reflect corporate goals, not real need. There are obviously exceptions. And I guess at a company where late project = layoffs corporate will make it a problem for the devs regardless.

you are not immune to ai psychosis
@csolisr that's why it's good to have drm free copies, as backups if nothing else. Doesn't work for games as a service though, which will eventually shut down and leave you nothing to show for the time and money spent 🥲
@argv_minus_one I prefer LibreDonald's. They provide all the ingredients for free but you do have to compile the sandwich yourself
Not "all [people] are created equal", but "all people *are* equal." Love your neighbor as yourself / the golden rule means seeing the needs of others as equal to your own needs, or the needs of your group. "Created equal" leaves room for some people to *become* better than others, which allows us to dehumanize people at our discretion by convincing ourselves that their needs are due to their own shortcomings and therefore not our concern. Just a random thought for the void this morning

@Nat1Advice I love the implication that since this is "Bad DND Advice", dumping cursed objects at a thrift store is actually something you should do

Finishing The Strength of the Few reminded me why I usually stick to older series. What do you mean the next book isn't out yet?? I have to wait HOW LONG???

Maybe I'll finally start Malazan while I wait.

First two rolls of the play by post campaign I just started were a nat 20 and a nat 1. It's going to be a wild ride.
