person of mystery. Once described as a "soft jittle" :3

I’ve realised that I probably never liked the technology industry. What I liked was personal computing, in all its facets - creativity, scratching your own itches, sharing and collaborating on a small scale.

There was a time when the tech industry and the personal computing space were pushing in the same direction, but I realise now that that’s probably not been the case for a while. They’re now even directly sabotaging personal computing in favour of big tech (the RAM drought)

@saikou yeah. I've had the problem of git status blocking zsh prompt output.

Curious how this works out for you :)

@cstrotm Thanks for all that. Depending on how things go I may potentially move in a similar direction in the future.

I have been been in talks with Scaleway (French cloud provider that has an in-house domain registrar, see IANA ID: 74) and their support staff patiently investigated and explained me how a) account security procedures and b) abuse report handling work. Unfortunately logistical issues make some ccTLDs an issue but I suspect it will be solved at some point.

@cstrotm You're welcome!

Out of interest what registrar(s) did you move to and what TLDs are involved?

Alas I'm in Canada, and the local options have their own faults (usually involving naivety towards security issues), but there are some decent options if you meet a narrow criteria.

@cstrotm Moniker.com have a very... questionable history.

A single incident may have been written off by some as potential user error, but with multiple unrelated users having been compromised with the only common factor being they used Moniker.com it certainly raises more concerning questions than answers.

As far as I know, they never publicly investigated what occurred.

@ariadne I think arguing over text editors is frankly a waste of time. Enjoy using whatever works for you.
@Angle @nemobis Devils advocate. I don't think you want things in reverse.
@Angle I guess the ghouls who spent last decade or two spreading crappy toolbars and other nonsense needed something new to do :P
@Angle o_O what nonsense is this?
Given recent news. I decided to dust this thing off.
