Apparently @NationCymru doesn't understand what an #ebike is. I suspect the MPs calling for regulation don't either.

Bikes not regulated to maximum 25 kmh/15.6 mph and 250 watts power output already require exactly what this article is claiming they want - including a licence, insurance and numberplates.; just like a moped.

All three cases in the Nation.Cymru article refer to bikes being ridden illegally, which should have had numberplates and insurance.

Instead a society is being created, by some, that is based on anger and hate. This must be resisted.
Every time we see someone using one of these slurs we must challenge them. Hold up a mirror. Show them that their playground behaviour won’t win.
We are a compassionate and tolerant people. I don’t believe those who oppose these values will win. But we need to be vigilant - societies can and do go backwards.
So we must avoid the selfish behaviour that has been on the ascendant since the ‘80s.

I read John Cleese defined ‘snowflake’ as a word used by sociopaths to attack people with empathy (I paraphrase).
I like that.
I guess ‘woke’ is a slur created by selfish people to denigrate those who think of others (ref. original definition of ‘woke’).
‘Virtue signalling’ is an attack on people who say positive things by those who are incapable of doing that.
So we live in a world where playground insults have been created to negate all the important qualities that we should embrace.

I spent a lot of years on Twitter and helped hundreds of scientists join & see the value of a social network. I loved those early days - they changed my life. Starting over again is sad but energizing. Onward.
