@arstechnica I decided on Google smart home over Alexa.
I love my start home system, but Google is stagnating its smart home products.
If they took the time to actually connect the dots between Google Gemini (their proprietary AI) and Google home - the devices could be made incredibly powerful.
Imagine being able to issue commands like "Turn this light off in 15 mins" or "Turn on the AC when I get home and the weather is above 30 degrees from now on"
Squandered technology...
@fuzzychef Truth be told, AI is pretty decent at writing code.
The code is commented and generally cleaner and better structured.
Then again after nearly 3 decades of coding, I've seen absolute horror stories.
