@farah There's no "end". Remember that. You don't, one day, "achieve enlightenment" (if that's even a thing; debatable) and then you can just lean back and rest. It's work, and the work doesn't stop.
But just as impermanence teaches us that a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts, so too does continual work teach us that a goal isn't a good idea because it's achievable, but because it inspires us to continue to try to be better.
I might normally use a phrase like "be better today than you were yesterday", but even that is unrealistic and sets one up for feeling like a failure.
It's been said that every choice you make is a vote for the person you want to be. You don't have to win all the votes, just most of them. Whenever you can, make the better choice. Each better choice moves you in the right direction.
Try. Aspire. But forgive yourself. Then try again.
