As a writer, I believe genAI removes the *joy* from creating art and strangles the introspection and growth it provides.
It's also one of the most environmentally devastating uses of the underlying hardware.

Wait, what? 1/ Read the 2nd post

Via Sherrilyn Ifill:

This is actually huge.

Trump says he gave #Iran permission to bomb US airbase. Any other president would have been impeached before sunset

2/ Sherrilyn Ifill knows what the Washington Times is, folks. She didn't have to rely on them. It's been reported everywhere. She just happened to quote post this one.

Here's the quote. I don't post fake news, nor does she, FFS.

@farah There's no "end". Remember that. You don't, one day, "achieve enlightenment" (if that's even a thing; debatable) and then you can just lean back and rest. It's work, and the work doesn't stop.

But just as impermanence teaches us that a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts, so too does continual work teach us that a goal isn't a good idea because it's achievable, but because it inspires us to continue to try to be better.

I might normally use a phrase like "be better today than you were yesterday", but even that is unrealistic and sets one up for feeling like a failure.

It's been said that every choice you make is a vote for the person you want to be. You don't have to win all the votes, just most of them. Whenever you can, make the better choice. Each better choice moves you in the right direction.

Try. Aspire. But forgive yourself. Then try again.

Look at me, trying to sound like I'm all that! 🤪

@farah I don't think compassion implies forgiveness. I can understand and empathize with someone, acknowledge their essential humanity, and still think they are evil.
Still struggling with compassion for terrible people. Does it ever get better?
@farah I always think it is good to practice compassion! Wanting better for those that don't want better for you shows a deep connection to your humanness that the people you're struggling against lack, but it's also good to have healthy boundaries and draw strong lines, so as to not let people walk over you or use your heart against you. You can stand up to people compassionately!
@NadiaPurge
I'm immediately thinking about how often we hear unhinged, literally criminal adult behavior called just "a tantrum". No, girl; those are legit warcrimes being committed by people who know exactly what they are doing.

If small children behave a certain way when scolded or disciplined out of bad behavior, I need you to get real data on how adults behave before you start giving advice on actual geopolitics in 2025, based on kids under 12.

Catch up to the conversation or go back to training children to be better adults. That's where you have expertise.

It is batshit af to assert you have anything helpful to add to ADULT CONVERSATION if all you contribute is about children instead of the timely issues at hand.

Sarah McBride thought coming out would kill her political career. She’s just getting started.

After a string of high-profile political successes, the millennial trans activist is running for the Delaware state Senate.

Eric Garcia has been on this from day one and gives us this warning and I can't stress enough how much of a must follow Eric is for congressional trans news. bsky.app/profile/eric...
