My #scifi #novel centers on a young scientist who discovers an encroaching disaster. The old guard scientists are skeptical until the disaster obviously hits a major trade route. A powerful senator, bankrolled by ancient, wealthy interests, tries to deflect the scientist by demanding more study, which backfires as the scientists prove effective at uncovering the ancient conspiracy behind the disaster.
It makes scientists and science the heroes, all while they act like scientists.
