To my knowledge, I have never created an app in the amazon appstore. (They have an app store?)

Go Seattle Torrent!! :)

The atmosphere here is great!

(Posted 2 hours delayed due to an upload error I missed.)

I went to see whether I could sell back any of the college textbooks I still have.

Uh. Seems the answer is no. No price data for any of them.

Credit to the site, it had cover photos for all of them. But very much doesn’t seem to want them.

After 25 years, I’m not sure I do either.

Success.

Both sparc 1 & 4 nvram chips saved and functional. They remember their identities after shutdown now.

I also installed fresh netbsd 10 on both as well (which was quite the journey in setting up bootp/tftp/nfs on a raspberry pi).

Watch for these systems soon on eBay. :)

[Also needed was a new drive in the 4, and half the ram removed because one of the 4 sdimms was bad, but pairs are required. The original 1+ hardware still works.]

Those who have ever owned sun hardware or worked with Dallas rtc will know what’s happening here. ;)

Prepping for the GW-48T02

Hmmmmm, what is wrong with this picture???
I’m just happy I remembered the password after 25 years!
Yup. I’m at this stage of cleaning out the garage. These haven’t been on in over 25 years. #sparc #sparcstation
If you’re in the market for a unifi Poe 48 port switch and feeling lucky, re pc has the 500w us 48 (with 2 sfp+ ports). Labeled “as is, tested for power”, but only asking $150. I can’t imagine it will stay there long and is labeled as being donated last week.

This past weeks project (ok two really), has been building a poe esp32 gps synced ntp server. I’m finally ok with it after lots of fiddling. The first week I struggled hard with both Claude and Gemini (they’re bad for this). I gave up, learned it all myself and it’s much better now. It’s now installed outside with an external gps antenna too.

All the code is in esphome external components & in GitHub as well. Maybe one day I’ll make it public. I really wish GitHub had a “share private” option.
