Has me thinking of that time Equifax set up a class action settlement on another domain. Someone pointed out how easy it was to create a fake lookalike site that even Equifax linked to it https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/20/business/equifax-fake-website.html
Companies have trained users to ignore the domain entirely.
Apple is one of the few I can think of that exclusively uses a single domain.
