Excited to share our new paper on the relationship between firearms and conservation! We explore the production of eco-munitionary subjects: individuals that act to reproduce the mutually constitutive relationship between the firearms industry and wildlife agencies.

Hello Mastodon world. I'm new here. I'm an environmental social scientist, with research focused on ecological restoration, forest management, and urban nature. Looking to engage & learn. As I explore here, will also be mirroring my Twitter (@forrestfleisch1)

It's SciCom day!! Two media interviews, one on drought and environmental justice and one on virtual water exports, + preparing for a podcast interview about my new grant project on water energy nexus. Fun opportunity to try and make the case that the stuff I nerd out about all the time is maybe relevant and interesting to other people too!
Had the pleasure of telling Ellie Carlino that she passed her comps today. Congratulations Ellie! This comes just a day after our co-authored papers conditional acceptance. Big week for this amazing student! Thanks to her wonderful committee, including @[email protected] #humangeography #politicalecology #legalgeography

Got a conditional acceptance on a manuscript today! I am very excited to get this next paper about the entanglements of guns and conservation into the world! It makes big advancements on our prior paper about the Pittman-Roberston Act.

Prior paper in conservation and society on guns and financing of wildlife management:
