iRant: Find My Teases ETA

@caseyliss Huge pet peeve of mine:
> 4.5.4 ... Push Notifications should not be used for promotions or direct marketing purposes unless customers have explicitly opted in to receive them via consent language displayed in your app’s UI, and you provide a method in your app for a user to opt out from receiving such messages. Abuse of these services may result in revocation of your privileges.
No one, including Apple, follows this rule.
Sometimes I wonder if the goal of the DoorDash app is just to frustrate you so much that you give up and settle instead of actually finding what you want.
I don’t know if I can think of another app that is so horribly designed. It seems literally impossible to drill into a restaurant, decide you don’t want that, and pick up where you left off in you search/scrolling/etc.
The app has short-term memory loss and just resets completely when you back out 80% of the time.
I was really hoping to see some humility and possibly even an apology in today’s #WWDC I wasn’t expecting it but this was an opportunity for Apple to reach out to developers and acknowledge the issues. Instead, it was business as usual.
iPadOS looks viable for the first time for more that content consumption which is cool. The generative APIs are a year late but better late than never.
On AI, Apple is a SOLID year behind. It’s still unclear if they will recover.
Apple App review process sucks, it's just terrible. I hate having time-sensitive updates that get denied because the reviewer we too dense to figure it out with detailed instructions or called out something that's been there since v1.
In the past 2 years or so Apple has burned all goodwill it had with me through their actions. They deserve to lose the position as the sole app store. Lacking real competition has let them get away with a trash system for far too long.
I really wish #Apple wouldn’t offload apps that have displayed widgets (or at least let us mark apps as “never offload”). I’ve now had it offload #Widgetsmith 2 different times. No, I don’t open the app often/ever but that’s because it’s doing exactly what I want, displaying widgets.
@_Davidsmith do you know of any work arounds? I have at least 1 other app that I never open and only look at the widget which has never been offloaded. Not sure what’s different, I don’t pay for it but I do for WS
"Alexa turn off Master Fan Lights"
"Do you mean Basement Lights?"
No, I do not. In fact, I have no device named "Basement Lights" nor have I ever because _I don't have a basement_.
Yet if I talk to a different Echo it will work.
Why is the DoorDash app so terrible? Why does clicking back throw away your search position as if the app can’t hold it all in memory?
Looking for something to get, drilling into a store, deciding you don’t want that, clicking back, and completely losing your place.
Frankly, it’s embarrassing.
