Today got an email from WikiJournal of Science acknowledging my submission of a candidate replacement article for an existing Wikipedia page. It'll now be sent out to peer review.
The journal was started in part to bring more expertise to Wikipedia. Worth checking out, given that Wikipedia is used more than any other source! How is the page looking for your research topic?
