I finally got around to trying the VBE SVGA driver for Windows 3.11. Great success! Native drivers would be nicer, but this AGP card of mine is too new for that. I was missing having a proper resolution in 3.x. Also nice is that the resolution setting is text in system.ini. Native drivers often required you to swap back to the VGA driver if you connected a screen that couldn't display the mode you had configured. https://github.com/PluMGMK/vbesvga.drv

Well well well, what have we here. Someone had blown the poor thing with an incorrect polarity PSU, but the sacrificial diode was the only casualty. I removed the diode and now I can listen to canyon.mid all day with this cheese box. I guess a new diode is in order so that future mishaps won't blow it up for real.

To put the #amiga 1700 back together for real or not.. 🤔
