Southwestern Virginia was trying to convince us that spring was coming, but we're all wise to that trick: False Spring was here and is now gone. But, hey, #cycling through the valleys and some urban cyclocross through the alleys to get back home!
Good day out on the #bike -- humid, quite warm, but the deep overcast kept us in breezy shade for most of the day.
We had a good morning #cycling out by Pulaski, Draper, etc., going up and over the big ridge once and allllll the little ones on the return part of the loop. :D Thanks to Cam and Lauren for the excellent #bike ride. Found a cute little shop in Pulaski and got Cookies Of Unusual Flavors. Banana pudding -- and it hit the mark!
Side effect of damaging Unnamed Purple Bike: trusty old Feather (2011 Roubaix Pro) is back out of retirement. I still love this bike. It's definitely of its era, weird when viewed through a 2025 lens, but DAMN is it crisp and comfy and fast and light.
Yooooo #bike ride and snack stops. SMARCH IS HERE.

While there are still a lot of Blue Ridge Parkway closures from hurricane Helene, I was surprised that the recent ice and wind storm closed a previously-repaired 3.1 mile section over the top of Rocky Knob. There were a few downed trees intruding into the road on even the ungated side.

Still absolutely beautiful out there today on the #bike, though!

There are certain roads around here that are just dear to my heart on the #bike, places that always make me stop, breathe deep, and just marvel at the place.

There's nothing here that'd be on the cover of a magazine or anything... but there's something about the peace and the rolling familiarity of the hills and mountains. Home.

The inquisitive cows just off my right shoulder here don't hurt, either. 🐄

Said it before and will say it again: we sure do live in a really beautiful place to #bike around. Thanks to Cam and Lauren for getting me out on my longest ride since I hurt my back.
Managed to get out for a #bike ride with Cam and Lauren and it was just lovely. Lots of rolling hills, one big mountain, and it turns out that downtown Pulaski has a bit of revival going on! Not pictured: tasty pretzel-roll sammidge from the strange new bakery.
Good to see the Valais contingent of Swiss antifa is still out there putting up the regular reminders.
