Every enterprise app feels like typing on a mushy membrane keyboard. You click a button and get a gentle animation, a swooshy transition, a soft bounce, and zero clear feedback that anything actually happened. The entire B2B software industry optimized for how tools feel during a fifteen-minute sales demo instead of how they perform across an eight-hour workday, and the result is professional software with the tactile precision of poking a marshmallow.

Reading a tech startup's "Our Story" page:

"We were frustrated with existing solutions" = We've never worked in this industry
"We asked ourselves: what if..." = We had a shower thought
"After months of research" = We Googled it
"We're disrupting" = We're copying but with React

Plato warned us. Over two thousand years ago, he told the story of prisoners chained in a cave, mistaking shadows on the wall for reality. They saw outlines and echoes, never the fire or the forms behind it. And when one prisoner escaped and saw the sun, he came back to free the others.

[
] After 20 years of stagnation, PNG is back with renewed vigor!

What's new?

* Proper HDR support (future‐proof, too!)

* Finally recognizes APNGs (animations!)

* Officially supports Exif data

* General tidying up—fixing errata, clarifications, etc.

put some thoughts together on the LLM trend and its implications for labor rights. there's a lot to be said about the lofty claims of pro-LLM technologists, but this presumes their promises of efficiency, etc. are true.
