Loch Katrine in the Trossachs, about 35 miles north of Glasgow. Covering 12.4 square kilometres, it's scotland's 11th largest loch, and since the 1850s, it's been providing the city with fresh, clean drinking water. This is transported to Glasgow by gravity alone through the Loch Katrine Aqueduct, and much of the original infrastructure created by Victorian engineers is still in use today.
