#Y2K - Kyle Mooney is a gift. This movie is so densely packed with goodness, nostalgia, in-jokes, and weird references, but cemented by solid performances (Kyle's character excepted). A kinda "what if Stephen King was a humorist" take on horror. Will prob end up watching repeatedly.
Merry, merry...
Oh, Christmas Tree...
#DreadZeppelinASongOfHope - man, I wish I could've seen them live at their peak. And a blast of a documentary that really shows who the band was, with an awesome narrative left turn about halfway thru. Definitely worth a watch.
Happy holidays...
#CreatureCommandos - Gunn is a seriously talented and prolific creator. To be honest, I was prob more aligned with him creative sensibility-wise 10 to 15 years ago, but, regardless he is now killing it, and if this show is an indication of how his DC reign will go, then we are in for a fun ride.
#DearSanta - it is a weird thing that the Farrellys tend to stick the emotional landings of their films better than the comedic ones. Having said that, Jack Black is still fun and the kid that plays the lead is a nice non-Stepford child with real personality.
#ThePrimevals - holy cow! This is wonderful. Total throwback to the 90s Full Moon lunacy. Fun stop motion, serviceable acting, great music, and genre weirdness. Loved it. I miss the early 90s, low-budget but ambitious, direct-to-video movies.
#MadameWeb - I kinda get what they wanted to do, and in a world where they could tie into an ongoing Spider-man series of films, it wouldn't seem so random, but Sony has made things tough on themselves. Decent cast, but without Spider-man to directly reference, the exposition was just too much.
#AQuietPlaceDayOne - I haven't seen the first two, but I am pretty familiar with the premise. This one feels special, tho. I doubt the others had as much going on underneath as this one. The monsters are nicely secondary. Also, why isn't Lupita Nyong'o in everything? She is perfection.
