So far the consensus is that mastodon.social is very slow because of the influx of users, but the jury is out as to whether it will speed up again? Do I have that right? Trying to figure out if I should plan on migrating.

If I understand it correctly, when you migrate to another instance, you can take your followers and follows with you but not your existing posts, and you also have to change your messages on all your other sites and networks about where to find you on Mastodon.

Is Mastodon ever fast for anyone? Mastodon.social is slow and I spend most of my time here either seeing a blank browser tab or a feed with blank images. I know the current high load is an issue, but is it this slow across other instances, too?
Every Mastodon explanation is like "It's very simple, your account is part of a kerflunk, and each kerflunk can talk to each other as part of a bumblurt. At the moment everyone you flurgle can see your bloops but only people IN your kerflunk can quark your nerps. Kinda like email."

Atari Turns 50: A Look Back on the Original Name in Video Games

Atari launched a multi-billion-dollar industry, only to lose control of it in a series of missteps. But the name will always resonate.

Tonight I played Atari 800 games: Survivor, Thrax Lair, Kid Grid, Juice!, and Drelbs. I had forgotten how much I loved the first two, and the other three were also fun to revisit. (My Friday evening, straight out of 1982.) #retrocomputing #atari

I just heard someone referring to tetris as "an inventory management survival horror game"

I think now my life has meaning.
