I like to think that I am few things, but do lots.

I teach aspiring software developers mostly by having fun exploring technologies with them.

I like my software small, fast, comprehensible, open source, privacy respecting and environmentally friendly.

Sports: (Gravel) bicycling, survival/obstacle, trail and road running.

Hobbies include photography, writing fiction and playing piano. Getting into soldering.

We are very close to a new OpenBSD release. "You Have Installed OpenBSD. Now For The Daily Tasks." https://nxdomain.no/~peter/openbsd_installed_now_for_the_daily_tasks.html can help you prepare for the upgrade.

If you are using exim as your MTA (or any other non-base system MTA), "OpenSMTPD Is The Mail Server For The Future" https://nxdomain.no/~peter/time_for_opensmtpd.html contains useful pointers for a better mail future.

I wanted to share some news with you. After weeks of hard work and being forced to learn new tech from scratch, the Slackware Community Forge, a git software forge, is now available at . It's not just a git repository server but also a Docker container registry! What the Forge? I created this Forge as an autonomous and European based alternative to the popular git forges like…

The 13.5 release for #Debian #Linux is now available. This does not constitute a new major version of Debian, this is just a point release that acts as a big rollup of #security and #stability updates. If you're already on Debian 13, all you need to do is install your updates normally and you'll be g2g.

New stable kernels landed today in Alpine Linux. They address ssh-keysign-pwn (CVE-2026-46333)

- 6.18.31
- 6.12.89
- 6.6.139
- 6.1.173
- 5.15.207

These have been backported all the way down to Alpine Linux 3.16.

Edit: These versions fix ssh-keysign-pwn, not Fragnesia

With just one month to go, the program for #TDOSE 2026 is filling up nicely. We have talks scheduled by Emiel Brok, Boekenwuurm, Maja, Lennart Benschop, Brenno de Winter and many others. But we have room for a few more, as well! The CfP has been extended until May 20th.
