@val i got one of these a while ago and its got a kind of faux fur appearance. we've been calling it "the weasel"

@hobbs also the number of knocks is an interesting variable you can play around with. for example:

1 knock: not even knocking. wont even notice
2 knocks: polite. might not think it's someone knocking
3 knocks: someone probably knocking on the door
4 knocks: its important
5 knocks: maybe even urgent
6: its gotta be the cops or some shit
10: it isnt someone knocking, its probably a neighbor putting up shelves
50: they must be really bad at putting up shelves
100: what is even going on out there

bad: you're inside, and someone outside knocks on your door

worse: you're outside, and someone inside knocks on your door

@Gulfie quite a few years ago i was trying to work out what the actual fuck dependency injection was, or what problem it solved. it genuinely took me like a day to even get my head around it. actually now i've forgotten since it was a while ago, but i seem to remember that it was a solution to basically a fake made-up problem caused by another part of the way their programming language/libraries work, which explains why i'd never encountered it before outside of that language/ecosystem
@jason i hate all the apps. there aren't any apps i like. maybe i'm just bad at finding good apps though. are there any apps you like?

it is said that approximately 1,993 years ago a man who disappeared had emerged from a burrow, and it was clear to onlookers that it was man no more, and they saw that what was man had become unshackled from the concept of man, and that what emerged frolicked, and its long ears stood proud, and it sniffed the air, and its beedy eyes surveyed the crowd, and its great thighs propelled it, and in those leaps and hops they saw its great vitality, and they saw that it also laid eggs, many eggs indeed

id like to say this decline is a consequence of malevolent venture capitalism or entropy or moloch’s ten armies or whatever, but it affects all apps, small and large. its very rare to find an app which gets better. the nicest people are making lovely apps, and even their apps are getting worse. it’s *all* apps.
