A guy that likes Linux and programming.

I'm intermediate in multiple languages, but I have no advanced experience, as I'm learning everything in my free time.

My GitHub is here, if you want to take a look.
I recommend taking a look at my ZSH config and Reddit wallpapers

Help wanted! 🛟

#Inkscape community member @dopelover recently contributed a set of shortcuts that mimics that of #Illustrator CC 2024, but it needs a larger userbase to test it before merging.

If you're (or you know someone) familiar with Illustrator, please go to the forum page and follow the instructions to get the new keyboard shortcuts file for testing there:

https://inkscape.org/forums/inks-news/help-test-the-new-illustrator-compatible-shortcuts/

Thanks for your testing!

We got another "critical vulnerability" on #curl reported. I figured you might enjoy it.

"The authentication mechanism in cURL does not properly restrict the number of failed authentication attempts, allowing an attacker to brute-force credentials"

Yawn. Away, away you go.

#Trakkr proved to be a bit tougher but to crack as it didn't have a (working) Linux build until I packaged it. Since I didn't have a lot of experience with Vite/TypeScript/JavaScript/Electron it took a while but everything seems to be working now.

You need to make a symlink for the app to find Elite's journal files but it works really well otherwise.

I got into #EliteDangerous again and I found out that the tools I used were a bit painful. There were no packages on NixOS and things like EDMarketConnector aren't that easy to run on it without actually packaging it.

Well you don't have to deal with it because I made some packages! I packaged:

#MinEDLauncher - the better way to launch Elite
#EDMarketConnector - upload prices to sites like INARA
#Trakkr - a easy way to manage your wing missions

As someone who is totally blind, the Fediverse is the only place where I have ever been able to follow people such as photographers, artists, or even those who post pictures of their cats or the food they ate. The reason is that most of them use alt text. They take the time to describe the images that my screen reader can't recognise. Some write the descriptions themselves, and others use tools such as altbot. Some worry that their descriptions aren't good enough, especially when they are new at this. Let me assure you, not only are they good enough, they are extremely appreciated! If the rest of the world thought as you did, it would be a much better place. Don't hesitate to ask if you're unsure of something, but never think that we don't notice your effort.

A valiant effort has been made by Little Tim this year, who for some reason has decided to change his name to Tim'); INSERT INTO [NiceList] SELECT * FROM [NaughtyList];--

HO HO HO! Nice try Tim. I don't use #SQL, I use several dozen interconnected #Excel spreadsheets, like a professional.
